Picasso was in a park when a woman approached him and asked him to draw a portrait of her. Picasso agreed and quickly sketches her. After handing the sketch to her, she is pleased with the likeness and asks how much she owed to him. Picasso replies: “$5,000.”
The woman screamed, “but it took you only five minutes.”
“No, madam, it took me all my life,” replied Picasso.

A thirst for knowledge, a lust for modernism, striving for minimalism in everything whilst being a terrible, terrible hoarder.
Trying to fuse the iconoclastic punk spirit that I grew up with with some sort of business sense (I want my ‘68 Mustang).
Wanting to be good at everything and be everything - I breathe graphic design but every day I wish I was a product designer, interior designer or an architect. Can’t complain though - typography is up there with girl’s bottoms.

I’m not quite sure what it is about this classic setup that I am drawn to. Perhaps it is the idea that, back in the day, you could get a lot done with this relatively simple setup.
In fact, for at least 3 years my Newton Messagepad was my main computer. I had a Performa 550 for a desktop machine but it acted mainly as a hub for my Newton. I used it for everything from surfing the web to email to writing articles for magazines.
All of this is to say that most people do not need as much as they think they do. Even I am guilty of only using a fraction of the computing power at my disposal 99% of the time. More often than not, even a setup this old would be enough.
